Truck Axle Scales & Weighing Systems
HOW IT WORKS
Air Suspension System
Our scales monitor most air suspension axle groups that are monitored by height control valves. Our scales do not monitor air assisted spring suspensions or independent lift axles that are controlled by air regulators.
Height Control Valve
The height control valve is sometimes also known as the leveling valve. The air suspension system is controlled by the height control valve by maintaining the optimal ride height between the carrying bed of the vehicle and the axles.
When weight is applied or removed from a vehicle, the ride height changes and triggers the height control valve to increase or decrease the air pressure into the system to return to the optimal ride height.
An axle group can consist of one, two or three axles that are monitored together by one or two height control valves, from left to right.
Single Axle
Our scales monitor single axle groups that are monitored by one or two height control valves, left to right. The axle group can be a steer axle group, the drive axle group or a trailer axle group.
Tandem Axle
Our scales monitor tandem axle groups that are monitored by one or two height control valves, left to right. The axle group can be a steer axle group, the drive axle group or a trailer axle group.
Tri Axle
Our scales monitor tri axle groups that are monitored by one or two height control valves, left to right. The axle group can be the drive axle group or a trailer axle group.
RIGHT WEIGH™ LOAD SCALES
Using a basic T-fitting and an extra air line, our scales monitor the fluctuation in air pressure of the air suspension system to display on-the-ground weight.
The picture to the left illustrates our scale installed on an air suspension system with an axle group that is monitored by one height control valve. For axle groups that are monitored by two height control valves from left to right, two air lines are needed to install the scale.
